Over the years our Allotment Association has made many changes particulaly since we doubled in size with plots and new membership.
Fresh ideas and more produce bring a new annual date for your diary. Our seasonal open day is now part of High Lane Village life and has been well attended by locals and visitors from as far away as Stoke.
A chance to walk round the plots and talk to the plot holders about their produce. Meet with friends and family, have a cup of tea with a cake or maybe a sandwich,
Open Day 2018
The weather was a bit of a disappointment this year as it rained constantly for 2 hours, but despite the rain and the wind there was a staedy stream of visitors made this Open Day another successful event! The atmosphere was wonderful and a really great time was enjoyed by all.
Thanks to all those who helped out either on the day or in the run up. Also thank-you for all your donations.
The traditional stalls and kitchen were, as usual, a triumph with the public and the addition of the Lemon and Rhubarb stall and an art display added more interest.
The addition of the Craft stall added some variation and proved to be a great accomplishment.
Eventually when the rain cleared our visitors ventured out to tour the plots and entered our Fun Competition where they voted for their favourite plots. Many took the chance to have a chat with some of the plot holders and afterwards enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake. The break in the weather gave the children a chance to take part in the Fairy Door Hunt
