Some of our plot holders spent a lovely afternoon escorting a group of residents from Abbeyfield Care Home round our allotment site.

They all took an interest in what we were growing and asked what we did with the produce. They also commented on how neat and tidy the site looked and were impressed with the variety of vegetables, fruit and flowers we were able to show them.

One gentlemen was an expert grower of sweetpeas and had won many prizes in various shows. We were very appreciative that he was  willing  to share some hints and tips.

After the tour we invited  our guests to join us in the hall for some tea and cake. We all enjoyed listening to their life experiences and how lmuch they enjoy living at Abbeyfield.

We look forward to some more of their visits in the not too distant future
